Young Adult Ministry (YAM) London serves the pastoral needs of young adults aged 18–35 across the Antiochian parishes in London. With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan, the ministry was formally established in 2026 to provide a coordinated and sustained approach to young adult life within the Church.
The roots of YAM London lie in the St George’s Young Adults Group, established in 2021. Originally led by Fr Boniface Carroll and Hadi Tannous, the group met fortnightly on Friday evenings and quickly became a space for young adults to pray together, reflect on the Orthodox faith, and build genuine friendships within the parish.
These gatherings took place in an informal and supportive setting, where young adults could ask questions, share experiences, and seek encouragement in the challenges of everyday life. This spirit of openness, fellowship, and shared faith continues to shape the life of YAM London today.
YAM London is guided by a committee chaired by His Eminence and composed of young adult representatives nominated by the parish priests of St George’s Cathedral and St Botolph’s Antiochian Orthodox Parishes in London. The chaplain of YAM London is Fr Dmitry Ismagilov, who is an assistant priest at St George’s Cathedral.
Throughout the year, YAM London hosts a range of activities, including social gatherings, discussion groups, festal meals, and other events.
At the heart of the ministry is support for the weekly Divine Liturgy in English, served every Thursday evening at St George’s Cathedral (outside Great Lent). Up-to-date service information is available through the Cathedral’s service schedule.
YAM London continues to grow as a place of encounter, learning, and fellowship for young adults seeking to live their faith within the Church. All young adults are warmly invited to take part in the life of the ministry and to join future gatherings.
