AGM 38

On Sunday, 7 December 2025, after the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Eminence, Metropolitan Silouan, our parish gathered for the 38th Annual General Meeting of the Antiochian Orthodox Society of Britain – the charity that serves St George’s Cathedral.

The Antiochian Orthodox Society of Britain is the registered charity that provides the legal, financial, and charitable framework for the life and ministry of St George’s Cathedral. It is regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Charity Number 801540).

The AGM took place over lunch at the Millennium Hotel in London. It was joined by Metropolitan Silouan, and cathedral’s clergy, including Archpriest Samir Gholam, Father Michel Touma, Father George Moldoveanu, and Deacon Ephraim Haddad.

The Chairman of the Board, Dr Samir Hraiki, and the Honorary Treasurer, Mr Johnny Tabbal, presented the Annual Charity Report, including talking about the accounts and finances of the Society and the parish. Eleven Board Members were in attendance.

His Eminence, Metropolitan Silouan, addressed the 85 Society members present at the meeting with a letter.

Later, presentations were also given on key areas of parish life:

• Mrs Maguy Makhoul reported on the Arabic School
• Mr Hadi Tannous presented updates on the Church Family Retreat, Sunday School and Youth Activities.
• Mr Najib Coutya spoke about the progress of the choir.
• Khourieh Mireille shared plans for forming a Ladies’ Committee and their activities.

The continued shared efforts toward securing a freehold place of worship for the Antiochian Orthodox community in Greater London have been also discussed.

The meeting concluded with warm thanks to all who support the life and ministry of our parish.
