Christmas Lunch Party
On December 11th, after a three-year interruption due to the COVID pandemic, the Antiochian Orthodox Society of Britain hosted its annual Christmas Lunch Party. After the Divine Liturgy celebrated at Maria Assumpta Chapel, our temporary place of worship in Kensington, parishioners of the cathedral and many guests of the Society joined our Party at the welcoming Millenium Gloucester Hotel. Guests were treated to a tasty and varied lunch buffet served by the hotel’s wonderful staff.
During the party, the Society held a fundraising lottery. Each guest could have entered it, and those lucky won nice presents. Towards the end of the party we had an unexpected (that early in December?!), but due to this even more joyful visit of Santa Claus! Kind Santa gave gifts to all our young guests. What a joy!
We want to thank Samira Abdel-Nour, Nemr Elias, and all others involved for working very hard to arrange this wonderful party. May God bless you! We also want to thank the lovely staff of Millennium Hotel for providing an excellent venue and taking care of our guests throughout the party. It is the second time our Society has hosted the event at this hotel, and like the first time, we had a very pleasant experience.
Below you will find a few photos from the event. Since our website and Facebook are in the public domain, we do not post photos with the close-ups of the children (e.g. when they met Santa) to protect their privacy and comply with the GDPR policy rules. We appreciate your understanding.
We wish you all a peaceful remainder of the Nativity Fast and blessed and happy Christmas!
