Dear brothers and sisters,
Blessed Lazarus Saturday to you all!
Today, His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan celebrated Orthros and the Divine Liturgy at his cathedral parish. Assisting him were Fr Michel, Fr Boniface, Fr Dmitry, and Fr Dcn George. We were also joined by our brothers and sisters from the St Botolph’s parish in London, who came to celebrate the feast with us.

In his word at the end of the service, Sayedna Silouan reflected on one line from the day’s Gospel: “Now Martha said to Jesus, ‘Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.’” (John 11:21)
Sayedna reminded us that when we sin, we are far from the Lord, and without Him, we die. If we want eternal life, we must draw closer to Jesus Christ our Lord. And to do that, we must stop sinning. He left the faithful with a powerful question: Do you want to be closer to God? Then you know what to do.
With the celebration of Lazarus Saturday, we begin our journey with Christ to Jerusalem, then to His Passion, Crucifixion, Death and Glorious Resurrection. Holy Week is near.
The Orthodox Church offers beautiful and intense services each day of Holy Week. Please come, and be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Here you can find the schedule of services during Holy Week at our parish: https://stgeorgeantioch.org/services/holy-week-2025-schedule/
